NICOTERRA

Nicoterra Trails, DIRT Corps, Green River Coalition, and Mid-Sound Fisheries are collaborating on creating more high quality salmon habitat on the Green River.  King County Flood Control District and WRIA 9 financially support these efforts through an annual grant round known as Regreen the Green based on principals of creating better habitat throughout the mainstem and tributaties of the only river that flows through Seattle.  Our efforts include: restoration training and education of diverse community groups, volunteer stewardship with organizations like Forterra, and the Seattle Sounders soccer team, the Duwammish Valley Youth Conservation Corps, as well as community groups in Tukwila.  We will create native woodlands along the rivers edge to shade waters, reduce runoff, and enhance habitat for all of natures critters.
